Painless Tooth Extraction in Jhadol & Phalasiya

Removal of a tooth that cannot be saved, under proper local anaesthesia.

We try to save teeth wherever it is sensible to do so. But when a tooth is broken below the gum, split through the root, loose from advanced gum disease, or an impacted wisdom tooth that keeps getting infected, removing it is the right treatment. Done properly with local anaesthesia, extraction should not be painful.

Before you come in

  • Eat a normal meal beforehand unless we have told you otherwise — an empty stomach makes you more likely to feel faint.
  • Tell us about every medicine you take, especially blood thinners, and about heart conditions, diabetes or pregnancy.
  • Bring any previous X-rays or prescriptions with you.

Aftercare — the first 24 hours matter most

  • Bite firmly on the gauze pad for 30 to 45 minutes without checking it repeatedly.
  • Do not rinse, spit forcefully, or use a straw for 24 hours. This is what dislodges the clot and causes severe pain a few days later.
  • No smoking, no tobacco, no gutkha. Tobacco is the most common cause of a painful, slow-healing socket.
  • Eat soft, cool food. Avoid very hot tea and chillies on the first day.
  • Take the painkillers and any antibiotics exactly as prescribed, and finish the course.
  • From the next day, rinse gently with warm salt water after meals.

When to call us

Some bleeding, swelling and discomfort for two or three days is normal. Call the clinic if bleeding does not stop after firm pressure for an hour, if pain suddenly gets much worse on day three or four, if you develop a fever, or if you cannot open your mouth properly.

Do not leave the gap forever

When a back tooth is removed and the space is left empty, the tooth above it drops down and the teeth beside it tilt into the gap. Chewing shifts to the other side and that side wears faster. Ask us at the time of the extraction whether the gap should be filled with an implant or a bridge, and plan for it rather than discovering the problem years later.

Questions patients ask about this treatment

Does tooth extraction hurt?

The area is fully numbed with local anaesthesia first, so during the extraction you feel pressure and movement but not pain. Only the anaesthetic injection itself is briefly felt. Afterwards there is usually mild soreness for two or three days, which prescribed painkillers control well.

How long does the socket take to heal after a tooth is removed?

The gum closes over in about one to two weeks, and the bone underneath fills in over roughly three months. Avoiding tobacco and not rinsing or spitting for the first 24 hours makes the biggest difference to how smoothly it heals.

My wisdom tooth keeps getting infected. Does it have to come out?

If a wisdom tooth is partly buried and food keeps collecting under the gum, infections will keep coming back and can damage the healthy molar in front of it. In that situation removal is usually advised. A wisdom tooth that is fully through, upright and cleanable can be left alone. An X-ray at our Jhadol or Phalasiya clinic shows which of the two you have.

Can a tooth be removed if I have high blood pressure or diabetes?

Yes, in most cases, provided the condition is under control. Bring your current medicines and a recent reading or report with you. We may check your blood pressure before starting, schedule you in the morning, and adjust the anaesthetic. Never stop a prescribed blood thinner on your own — tell us instead so we can plan around it.
